Stool top templates tufted and ready to fix with rubber latex

A Tufted Stool Top Workshop takes two days and costs £225 + the cost of a stool

The first day is the tufting day, a full day, from 9:30am until about 4:30pm, when you will make a template for your stool top, finalise your colours, draw up your design and tuft this to completion as the rubber latex to fix the wool to the backing fabric has to dry overnight for the next morning. I’m told tufting is harder work than people imagine! Please note that a certain amount of physical resilience and co-ordination is needed. The second day you will shear the tufted surface of your work, perhaps carve into it for design effect, tack it onto your stool top and final trim your work. The second day will not be quite as long a day as the first day,

I can provide you with a stool to cover or you can cover a stool of your own. Below are images of stools I can order for you, with prices, and I will treat the wood in agreement with you.  If you wish to cover a stool of your own please send me an image and dimensions in your email to me, so I can gauge if tufting and tacking will be possible.

Feedback tells me that a bit of preparation on the design and colours will get the first day off to a good start. Please let me know if you have an idea of what colours and design you have in mind for your tufted piece? A bit of planning will help a lot towards you taking home something you are very proud of and that sits nicely with your intended space.

Workshops are for two to four people. Please email me letting me know your preferred dates, whether you want to buy a stool from me or use your own stool. We can then begin talking colours, design, etc.
